 TOUGH CASE
 Gabriel
Regner's first lawyer told him to go to Atty. Gurfinkel, whom
the lawyer described as "the No. 1 immigration attorney in
California." Here was what Atty. Gurfinkel faced: 1) Regner's
first marriage to a U.S. citizen was annulled due to allegations
of fraud; 2) His application for political asylum had been denied
and he had been placed under deportation; 3) Two anonymous letters
were sent directly to the INS reporting alleged serious wrongdoings
by Regner; 4) Regner had entered the U.S. on an assumed name;
5) He had declared a different birth date; 6) His birth certificate
did not list his first name; 7) He had obtained a legal change
of name, arousing suspicion he was hiding something. Atty. Gurfinkel
overcame each of these problems, and Regner got his green card.
