SARAH GERONIMO, 3 OTHER PHILIPPINE STARS IN A FREE CONCERT
LOS ANGELES - Filipinos in Southern California will have another chance to watch Philippine singing idol Sarah Geronimo perform for free, when she leads several Philippine stars in this year's annual Lunar New Year Parade and Festival on Sunday, February 13, 2005 in Pasadena, California from 11am to 5pm.
Sarah will ride on the Philippine float, with fellow "Night of the Champions" performer Mark Bautista. Award winning actor-brothers Leandro and Carlo Munoz will ride in a convertible.
Thousands of people, especially Filipinos in Southern California, are expected to line up Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena, the same route followed by the world-famous Tournament of Roses Parade -- on Colorado Boulevard, from Pasadena to Raymond Avenue at 11 am. Food and native delicacy booths will line up the streets. There will be a FREE concert after the parade with Sarah and Mark leading the musical presentation at the CENTRAL PARK, 2 blocks south of Colorado Blvd. (South Fair Oaks and East Dayton St.)
The 2005 Lunar New Year Parade and Festival will again be presented this year by KSCI-TV 18 and the Law Offices of Michael J. Gurfinkel, Inc.
"This free concert is our way of giving back to the Filipino community which has supported us through the years. Be there with your families because Sarah and Mark will sing more than 10 songs. Sarah and Mark are making sure it will be worth the people's while to go to the festival," Atty. Gurfinkel said.
The Law Offices of Michael J. Gurfinkel, Inc. co-sponsored the first Lunar Parade in 2002, with singer-actress Regine Velasquez gracing the Philippine float.
This event is also sponsored by Southwest Airlines, Toyota, McDonalds, VERB, All State Insurance, ABS-CBN's The Filipino Channel (TFC), Seafood City and Asian Journal Publications.
Sarah and Mark (both ABS-CBN artists), hosts of ASAP and Search for the Star In A Million, will be at the TFC booth, to pose for pictures and sign the CDs that fans can buy from the TFC booth.
