 PRAYERS
AND THE RIGHT LAWYER

George Juinio had been petitioned for a green card
by his employer through Labor Certification. But if the petition
processing was not completed before his son, Gilbert, turned 21,
the son would not be included under the employer's petition, and
would have to wait another 6 to 10 years before Gilbert could
get a green card. After the petition was approved, Atty. Gurfinkel
was able to convince INS officers to expedite the interview of
the Juinios, because Gilbert would be turning 21. Usually, it
takes one year or more before a person with an approved Labor
Certification can be interviewed for a green card. During the
interview, the INS officer questioned George's wife, Nydia, about
her LULAC application. But despite Nydia's questionable LULAC
application, Atty. Gurfinkel was finally able to convince the
INS officer to approve the family’s green card on the spot,
and the Juinios got their green cards, just two weeks before Gilbert's
21st birthday.
