 JOY AMID
SORROW
Atty.
Michael J. Gurfinkel shows a happy Mrs. Cirila Klein the Notice
of Approval of her green card. Mrs. Klein's husband died before
her green card interview. Under the law, the petition should have
been automatically revoked with the death of the petitioner. Atty.
Gurfinkel convinced the INS to grant Mrs. Klein a green card despite
her husband's death, for "humanitarian reasons." Mrs.
Klein was earlier turned down by another attorney, who said her
situation was "hopeless."
