 GREEN CARD
HOLDER
 When
James Franco's wife, Melvina, was diagnosed with leukemia in the
U.S., James tried to obtain a visitor's visa to be with her. He
was denied three times, even though his family tried all avenues
to secure a visitor's visa for James, even securing emotional
letters from U.S. Senators and Congressmen. They hired Atty. Gurfinkel,
who carefully evaluated the situation, and tried a different approach.
Atty. Gurfinkel convinced INS to expedite Melvina's naturalization
in one week (jnstead of the usual one year or more). Melvina became
a U.S. citizen and Atty. Gurfinkel convinced the Embassy to immediately
upgrade James' petition to that of a spouse of a U.S. citizen.
James got his immigrant visa at the Embassy, arrived in the U.S.,
and was able to be by Melvina's side with their two daughters,
for a mere nine hours before
Melvina died.
