ATTORNEY CLEARS SIBLINGS OF LIFETIME BAN FOR ALIEN SMUGGLING

Cleared of ALIEN SMUGGLING:
The Alferez Siblings Abella, Elenita, & Arnold above in San Francisco with Atty. Michael J. Gurfinkel who cleared their names with the U.S. Embassy of alien smuggling.

“A little white lie doesn’t hurt anyone…and who could possibly find out?”

These were the thoughts that ran through Edwin Alferez’s mind when he decided to keep his marriage with his long-time girlfriend a secret from his siblings and parents, and take his chances pursuing his visa as “single”.

Not wanting to abandon his responsibility to the woman he loved and their unborn child, Edwin was torn between fulfilling his duties as husband and father, and going to the US with his three other siblings.

For many years, Abella, Elenita, Arnold and Edwin, dreamt the “American
Dream”. Coming to America was synonymous with holding the world in the palm of their hands—they could be with their family, work at well paying jobs, and enjoy the greener pastures of the U.S.

That dream was so close to being fulfilled, (or so they thought), because the petition from their immigrant (green card holder) father had finally become current, after ten years of waiting.

However, Edwin’s heart won over his head. He secretly wedded his long-time sweetheart, but decided not to tell his siblings and his parents because he knew that this marriage could jeopardize his chances of coming to America. (This is because a petition by an immigrant parent is considered “void” when the child marries. So, with this marriage, Edwin was no longer entitled to a visa.)

Then tragedy struck the entire Alferez family at their interview. Just when their dream of coming to America was at the tip of their fingers, the Embassy discovered Edwin’s secret marriage and not only was he refused a visa for fraud, but his brother and sisters’ visas were turned down as well on charges of “alien smuggling” because of Edwin’s “white lie”.

The family was devastated and sent letter after letter to the Embassy, in the hopes of appealing their case, but to no avail.

But then, after reading newspaper articles of how “Miracle Attorney” Michael Gurfinkel took on seemingly impossible cases, and turned lives of even simple folks like them around, the siblings’ mother was filled with renewed hope. She got in touch with the well-known attorney, who took on the challenge of fighting the cause of the innocent Alferez siblings.

Atty. Gurfinkel was able to persuade the Embassy to reconsider their cases. Once Attorney Gurfinkel cleared Abella, Elenita and Arnold of the “alien smuggling” charges, their visas were issued and they were allowed to enter the US to join their parents after ten long years of heartbreaking separation.

“We don’t know what would have happened if Atty. Gurfinkel did not come into our lives. For many years, we waited and dreamt for this day to happen. We can only give him our heartfelt thanks, and we wish to tell him that we are eternally grateful for his assistance and support. We found more than an able attorney in Michael; he is a sincere person who works hard to help ordinary people.” the siblings said.
