REDWOOD CITY, CA. --- Lenlen grew up in Bulacan, where her mother struggled to raise her and her two sisters by selling beef at the market. Lenlen’s mom borrowed money so that Lenlen could get her nursing degree. Soon after college, Lenlen went to Germany where she worked as a caregiver. There, she met Jun who was with the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. Soon after, the two got married in the Philippines. However, Jun had problems with his U.S. citizenship application and could not petition Lenlen immediately. But Lenlen was in a hurry to go to the U.S. to find work, be with Jun, and be able to pay off her mother’s debts. And so, she entered the U.S. in the 1990s under an assumed name with a visitor’s visa.
Years passed and Lenlen and Jun were already enjoying a better life in America. Jun eventually got his citizenship, Lenlen got a job, and they had a child. Then Lenlen got the news that her mother had cancer. She sent money for her mother’s chemotherapy and medicines, but her mom was losing the battle. Lenlen could not go home because her papers were not yet in order. She hired a law firm for her Adjustment of Status (AOS) and Fraud Waiver (FW), but unfortunately, the USCIS denied her green card because of her fraud.
Although Lenlen has been in the U.S. for 11 years now, her papers were not yet in order and she could be removed (deported). She was distraught and about to give up hope. But her cousin advised her to go to the Law Offices of Michael Gurfinkel to consult her case. Surprisingly, the solution to Lenlen’s bleak situation was in her own family!
Find out how Lenlen was able to a obtain a fraud waiver, adjust her status, and get her dream green card, when attorney-of-last-hope MICHAEL J. GURFINKEL and broadcast personality GEL SANTOS-RELOS bring you another brand-new episode of CITIZEN PINOY this Sunday, at 6:10 pm (PST) with a replay on Tuesday, at 11:20 pm (PST) on TFC.
