Married/Single Saved From Deportation --- on this Sunday’s CITIZEN PINOY!

MARRIED/SINGLE GETS GREEN CARD INSTEAD OF DEPORTATION: Wendy (3rd from left) had gone through very rough times: the discovery by the Embassy that she was married even before she immigrated to the U.S. as "single," thus resulting in the visa denial for her husband; the death of her father; giving birth and supporting her daughter Gabbie (2nd from left) who has a serious medical condition; and receipt of her deportation papers. And yet, the life-saving miracle came from her very own child! See how Wendy persisted and prevailed when hosts broadcast personality GEL SANTOS-RELOS (left) and leading immigration attorney MICHAEL J. GURFINKEL (right) bring you this week's episode of CITIZEN PINOY on Sunday, at 6:10 pm (PST) with a replay on Tuesday, at 11:20 pm (PST) on TFC. CITIZEN PINOY also airs on ANC-US every Saturday at 5:00 pm with replays on Sunday at 9 am, all PST; and on ANC- Philippines every Sunday at 8 am with replays at 12 midnight on the same day.
REDWOOD CITY , CA. --- Wendy has been through turbulent times. Almost three decades ago, she was petitioned by her lawful permanent resident father as “single.” However, she married her then boyfriend in 1992, before receiving her green card in October 1996, (which made her petition void). Of course, she never disclosed her marriage to the Embassy and entered the U.S. as “single,” even though she was secretly married. Two months after she got her green card, she returned to the Philippines and re-married Godofredo, to make it appear as if they were getting married for the first time. She then petitioned her husband, using their second date of marriage. Godofredo’s visa however, was refused because the Embassy discovered that Wendy was already married even before she entered the U.S. Nothing remains a secret for very long, and since that discovery, there hasn’t been a moment of peace for Wendy.
In 2004, Wendy returned to the Philippines due to her dad’s illness, and became pregnant. She then gave birth to daughter Gabrielle. While the arrival of a child should have been reason for joy, this was a different matter. Gabrielle was born with dysphagia – a serious medical condition where the child had difficulty swallowing and had to be fed through a feeding tube. Wendy continued to endure one crisis after another.
To further Wendy’s problems, she was then placed in deportation/removal proceedings, due to her “married/single” status. The “turbulent storms of life” just kept lashing at her, and yet Wendy persisted and prevailed. Shortly after she was placed in removal proceedings, she consulted with the Law Offices of Michael J. Gurfinkel.
When is it time to say “I give up”? And when is it time to let go and let the Almighty take over? Tune in to find out how Wendy’s troubles turned out when hosts leading immigration attorney MICHAEL J. GURFINKEL and broadcast personality GEL SANTOS-RELOS bring you CITIZEN PINOY on Sunday, October 28 th on The Filipino Channel (TFC).
