Tears Flow, as Daughter Arrives in U.S. Eight Years Early, Because of CITIZEN PINOY!

THE FUTURE SHINES BRIGHT FOR REBELLIOUS TEENAGER, THANKS TO CITIZEN PINOY.  When Fe (right) went abroad to seek greener pastures to provide for a better life for her daughter, it was too difficult and painful for both of them.  Daughter Janneth (2nd from left) grew up to be a stubborn teener rebelling against the reality that her mother was not around during her growing-up years. Find out how one fortuitous event turned their lives around and has made the future seem brighter for their reunited family when CITIZEN PINOY hosts broadcast personality GEL SANTOS-RELOS (left) and leading immigration attorney MICHAEL J. GURFINKEL (2nd from right) bring you this week's episode of CITIZEN PINOY on Sunday, at 6:10 pm (PST) with replays on Tuesday, at 11:20 pm (PST) on TFC.  CITIZEN PINOY also airs on ANC-US every Saturday at 5:00 pm with replays on Sunday at 9 am, all PST; and on ANC- Philippines every Sunday at 8 am with replays at 12 midnight on the same day.

REDWOOD CITY, CA. --- Janneth was only two years old when her mother Fe left her with a heavy heart to find work in Singapore in 1988.  It was an extreme sacrifice for Fe, to be separated from her daughter at such an early age, but it was necessary in order to provide for her child.  Fe stayed in Singapore for several years, missing milestones in Janneth’s life.  It pained Janneth that her mother was never around for her birthdays, and while she tried to understand that all these sacrifices were so that she could have a better future, Janneth developed a rebellious nature.  The long absence of her mother took its toll on Janneth, who has become outwardly incorrigible--- disobeying her Lola Gracing, hanging out with bad company, and constantly missing her classes and failing in school.  Despite Janneth’s stubbornness, Lola Gracing never gave up on her “apo” (granddaughter) and continued to patiently guide her and teach her good values.

In the mid-1990s, Fe moved to the U.S., and eventually married her U.S. citizen husband.  It appeared as if their dreams of petitioning Janneth would happen soon, but misfortune struck and Fe’s first husband died of a heart attack.  It took a while before Fe would open her heart to love again.  In 2003, Fe married U.S. citizen Larry, and became hopeful after watching CITIZEN PINOY one Sunday afternoon where host Atty. Gurfinkel discussed faster ways of bringing minor children to the U.S.  The couple immediately contacted the Michael J. Gurfinkel Law Offices and filed a new petition for Janneth, resulting in Janneth getting her green card in about four months -- which was eight years sooner than they thought possible.

Tune in and watch how Janneth’s case was “expedited”, and now that she is in the U.S., she looks forward to a new beginning and a brighter tomorrow, when hosts leading immigration attorney MICHAEL J. GURFINKEL and broadcast personality GEL SANTOS-RELOS bring you CITIZEN PINOY this Sunday, October 7th   on The Filipino Channel (TFC).
