THE CHILD STATUS PROTECTION ACT SAVES THE DAY FOR REYMON on this Sunday’s CITIZEN PINOY!

THE CHILD STATUS PROTECTION ACT SAVES THE DAY FOR REYMON. Reymon (2nd from left) was left in the Philippines (along with his two brothers) when Mommy Aida (2nd from right) tried to pursue her “American Dream” in 1985. For seven long years, she endured the pain and hardship of being so far away from her children. While the eldest and youngest sons eventually found means to legalize their stay in the U.S., middle son Reymon’s future was uncertain, because Aida mistakenly naturalized while he was under petition. Find out more about how a change in the law saved the day for Reymon, when hosts broadcast personality GEL SANTOS-RELOS (left) and leading immigration attorney MICHAEL J. GURFINKEL (right) bring you this week's episode of CITIZEN PINOY on Sunday, at 6:10 pm (PST) with a replay on Tuesday, at 11:20 pm (PST) on TFC. CITIZEN PINOY also airs on ANC-US every Saturday at 5:00 pm with replays on Sunday at 9 am, all PST; and on ANC- Philippines every Sunday at 8 am with replays at 12 midnight on the same day.

CITIZEN PINOY is the highly rated public service talk program hosted by leading immigration attorney MICHAEL J. GURFINKEL and broadcast personality GEL SANTOS-RELOS. It answers the need of Filipino American communities and families to have relevant information on the various possibilities, issues and problems of immigration.
Through hard work, determination and years of experience in immigration, litigation and negotiation Atty. Gurfinkel has helped thousands of Filipinos solve their immigration problems, be reunited with their loved ones, and live the “American dream.”
Ms. Santos-Relos is a 20-year media veteran, having hosted some of the most critically acclaimed shows on Philippine television, where she was named Best Public Affairs host and Best Public Service host, among many others.
The CITIZEN PINOY DVD (The Basic Questions) also contains a special feature called “Michael Matters” --- featuring Atty. Gurfinkel explaining various immigration concepts and issues that matter to viewers, such as Humanitarian Revalidation, Adoption Employment, even how to bring a “yaya” (nanny) to the US.
It has been the goal of the staff and crew behind CITIZEN PINOY to continue their service to the Filipinos and their families, and coming up with this DVD is an extension of that service. Executive Producer Eric Pugeda says that “We came up with this DVD para makatulong (to help)… and to provide quick answers to the public’s basic questions.” Headwriter Mouse Munoz believes that “people will want to buy the DVD especially if they need the information.” However, Munoz also reiterates that the public can use the DVD as a quick guide to a lot of issues, but “they cannot use this DVD alone since immigration is a complex topic. It would still be best to consult a lawyer about a person’s specific legal problem.”
