May 13th at 6:00 pm (PST) -- with a replay

on ABS-CBN Global's The Filipino Channel (TFC).
It was right around Mother’s Day when CITIZEN PINOY
premiered on May 8, 2005, and it was quite an appropriate
beginning because CITIZEN PINOY started, and continues to
be about reuniting families and telling the stories of parents,
especially mothers, who endured the pain of separation,
the far distance, and the long wait before they could again
be with their children, provide a better life and realize
dreams for their families.
On Sunday, CITIZEN PINOY celebrates Mother’s Day with
a special feature on Dorie and Dinah Sarming --- a mother
and a daughter who had been separated for many years. Dinah
was only nine (9) years old when her mother left for the
United States. Dorie typifies the picture of a suffering
and sacrificing mother, who has endured long, lonely days
and nights, as she encountered many difficulties working
hard for her green card through the help of her employer.
She has missed out on watching her daughter grow up. And
even when they were finally reunited in the US, her daughter
Dinah was cold and distant, not fully understanding the
hardships and pain that her mother endured.
And through it all, Dorie, typical of a mother, kept the
pain to herself. She mustered the courage to move on, keep
on loving Dinah with a mother’s eternally forgiving
heart.
On this Sunday’s Mother’s Day special of CITIZEN
PINOY --- hosts leading immigration attorney MICHAEL J.
GURFINKEL and TV personality GEL SANTOS-RELOS bring you
