REDWOOD CITY, CA. --- He is one of the hottest bankable stars in Philippine tinseltown. Handsome hunk. Versatile actor. Crush ng bayan. He has the face, fame and fortune, and even a green card that is elusive to many. And yet, PIOLO PASCUAL worries each time he travels to the States.

Piolo was petitioned by his mother in the early 90s, and when he came over to the US, he learned to be independent. At some point in his life, the bright lights of showbiz beckoned and he gave it a shot. His decision to be an actor was right on target because everyone recognizes how bright his star is shining all these years. So in the past, Piolo has been “commuting” to and from the Philippines and the U.S. However, the possession of a green card requires the individual to reside “permanently” in the U.S., and apparently Piolo is in the Philippines a lot, where he is at the top of his game. Once he had an “encounter” with an immigration officer, when returning to the U.S. from the Philippines. Piolo was sent to a room marked “secondary” where he was interrogated on his “extended stays” outside of his country of residence --- which should be the U.S. When Piolo nervously explained that he works as an actor in the Philippines, the immigration officer told him to “stop acting;” to which Piolo replied “I am not acting, I am telling the truth!”

It might seem difficult to believe that someone who has everything also has this major dilemma: he considers himself a permanent resident of the U.S., but is in the Philippines more than U.S. Immigration would like. So he was given a choice, and this handsome hunk has until December 2007 to make his decision. Find out more about how celebrity Piolo Pascual feels and thinks about his green card situation, and listen to the advice of “attorney-to-the-stars” MICHAEL J. GURFINKEL, when your most trusted immigration program airs the second episode of CITIZEN PINOY’s fifth season.
