YEARS OF SEPARATION FINALLY BRING TEARS OF JOY ON CITIZEN PINOY Telling the story of their family petition are Mr. Anastacio Salano (L) and Peter Joe Banny (third from left), along with hosts Odette Keeley and Atty. Michael Gurfinkel, on the set of Citizen Pinoy.   Peter was petitioned by his father, Anastacio, and was eligible for his visa years ago.   He patiently waited to be called back to the Embassy, but nothing happened.   Hear the frustrations, and his numerous trips to the Embassy, only to be turned away, and finally the joyful day when his visa was finally issued.

After its much-awaited debut on TFC (The Filipino Channel) on Sunday, May 8 th , featuring the highly-publicized case of popular Filipino performer Ms. Regine Velasquez, CITIZEN PINOY moves onto its next episode with a very interesting topic concerning "Family-Based Petitons."

If there is one value that is universal and inherent to the Filipino, it is the high regard that he puts on the Family. Filipino families are very close-knit, and this does not just include the nuclear family unit, but extends outward to embrace in-laws, titos & titas, lolos & lolas and godparents.

There is therefore that strong belief that a family should always be together.   However, due to certain circumstances (example: financial, work-related), families have to be separated for extended periods of time.   The pain, the agony and the nostalgia that family members have to go through can be very trying and unbearable.

The 2 nd episode of CITIZEN PINOY focuses on Family-Based Petitions, where we feature the stories of the Caoile and Salano families who have had the rollercoaster experience of feeling longing, sadness, anxiety, despair, hope and finally joy & triumph after finally being reunited with their families after a long wait.
