Regine Bares All for the 1st Time On the Premiere of CITIZEN PINOY

Finally - the much-awaited premiere telecast of CITIZEN PINOY will be seen by viewers beginning this coming Sunday, May 8 at 5:00 pm (Pacific Time) with the colorful and highly anticipated tell-all revelation of Regine Velasquez on the issue of alien smuggling.   This is the first time ever that Regine will be discussing the details of her case.

It will be remembered that in the summer of 2000, Asia's songbird was accused of "alien smuggling" and was banned from entering the US for life.   She was denied her entertainer's visa and her visitor's visa was revoked and cancelled "with prejudice."

The incident caused the popular Filipino entertainer to fall into depression.   She locked herself in her room and would not talk to anybody. She was so stressed and depressed due to the circumstances that her hair even started to fall off.

Regine's good friend and Viva Records owner Vic del Rosario suggested that she bring her "impossible" case to leading immigration attorney Michael J. Gurfinkel - whose reputation as "Attorney-to-the-Stars" and "Attorney of Last Hope" precedes him.   Atty. Gurfinkel has helped many Filipino celebrities like Christopher de Leon, Michael de Mesa and Gina Alajar in obtaining their green cards, working visas or even their American citizenship.

The pilot episode of CITIZEN PINOY reveals how Atty. Gurfinkel welcomed the challenge of Regine's complicated case, and how through hard work and a careful presentation of facts, was able to convince the Embassy that Regine should be allowed to once again return to the U.S. to perform.

CITIZEN PINOY is the first U.S. locally-produced one-hour public affairs talk show of ABS-CBN International that provides information on the various possibilities, issues and problems regarding US immigration.   It is hosted by Atty. Mike Guingona, Ms. Odette Alcazaren-Keeley and leading immigration lawyer Atty. Michael J. Gurfinkel.

The show will be aired every Sunday at 5 p.m. on TFC, with replays every Monday at 4 a.m.   and on ANC-USA every Friday at 8 p.m. (all Pacific times) . In the Philippines, the show will be aired every Saturday at 11 a.m. on ANC-Manila .
