What do Sean Connery and Gina Alajar have in common? Both have the Green Card as "Aliens with Extraordinary Ability"

Multi-award winning artist, Ms. Gina Alajar, shares with Atty. Michael J. Gurfinkel how she was able to get her green card as an "Alien of Extraordinary Ability."   Watch this interesting discussion of the highest green card available on CITIZEN PINOY, this coming Sunday, July 17 at 5:00 pm (PST) on TFC.

If you are outstanding in your field, exemplary in the performance of your craft, and recognized nationally or internationally for your abilities - then you could obtain for yourself a green card as an "Alien of Extraordinary Ability."

And this is what highly acclaimed Filipino actress and director Gina Alajar worked on and successfully acquired.   Ms. Alajar's name is synonymous with consummate artistry.   Proof is her numerous awards and recognition for her outstanding performances in immortal movies like "Salome," "Moral," "Small Voices," "The Debut," and so many more.

Ms. Alajar never thought it was possible for her to get a green card since she had no relatives in the US who could petition for her.   However, a chance encounter with leading immigration attorney Michael J. Gurfinkel during the screening of "Mulanay" at the Mann's Chinese Theater in California, opened Ms. Alajar's eyes to the big possibility that she would be able to petition herself and acquire an extraordinary ability green card.

Also featured in the same episode is Salvador "Dodong" Arellano - painter extraordinaire.   He has had the honor of painting such luminaries as England's former Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, the Sultan of Brunei, and Sylvester Stallone, among others.   His outstanding achievement in the arts also earned for him an extraordinary ability green card.

The extraordinary ability, or EB-1 green card can be an option for those with "extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics which has been demonstrated by sustained national or international acclaim and whose achievements have been recognized in the field through extensive documentation."   You must be one of "that small percentage who have risen to the very top of the field of endeavor" to be granted this classification.

It would be interesting to find out if you or somebody you know could qualify for this green card.   Tune in to Citizen Pinoy this Sunday, July 17 at 5:00 pm (PST) on TFC to learn more about Gina Alajar's and Dodong Arellano's interesting stories, and why they are in the same league as entertainment icon Sean Connery.
