CITIZEN PINOY viewers in North America and around the world who missed the episode featuring comedienne and singer Fe delos Reyes with her interesting tale on political asylum and her close brush with deportation can tune in and listen to all the details when CITIZEN PINOY brings back this special episode this coming Sunday, August 7 at 5:00 pm (PST).
Fe De Los Reyes came to the US as a tourist, and therefore she could not work. With her status running out, she was desperate to prolong and validate her stay in the USA. People were giving her advice, and a “friend of a friend” referred her to an immigration “consultant” who advised delos Reyes to apply for political asylum. It was a misstep that got her into trouble. And it seemed like the deeper she got into the rut, the more hopeless she became, and her dream of being able to share her music and laughter to the people eluded her even more. De los Reyes found herself a “candidate” for deportation. Suddenly the once bright and cheerful world of this funny woman turned dark and gloomy. And then, Atty. Michael J. Gurfinkel stepped in and “saved the show!”
With the thorough and well-researched legal assistance provided by the Law Offices of Atty. Gurfinkel, De Los Reyes’ petition for a green card was approved in the highest category available: Aliens of Extraordinary Ability. Nowadays, the laughter resonates even louder and with more sparkle, because de los Reyes can now claim the American stage as her own. Listen and learn from the serious issues and concerns behind the comedienne’s funny façade this coming Sunday, August 7, when CITIZEN PINOY features the topics of Political Asylum and Deportation, along with answers to viewer questions. And keep tuned for a better second season of the show in September!
