Michael J. Gurfinkel
J. Gurfinkel has been an attorney for over 29 years. He has always
excelled in school: Valedictorian in High School; Cum Laude at
UCLA; and Law Degree Honors and academic scholar at Loyola Law
School, which is one of the top law schools in California. He
is a member of the State Bar of California (passed the bar exam
on his first try), the American Immigration Lawyers Association
and the Immigration Section of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
Atty. Gurfinkel is licensed to practice immigration law throughout
the U.S. He is also licensed to appear before the U.S. District
Court for the Central and Northern Districts of California, and
the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Atty. Gurfinkel writes a weekly column, "Immigration
Corner," which is published in numerous community newspapers
in the United States. He is also the first immigration attorney
to produce and host a weekly television talk show, "Immigration
Corner," which was devoted to immigrants and those who wish
to immigrate to the U.S., focusing on U.S. immigration laws, issues,
and procedures. The widely-watched show was aired for several
seasons on KSCI-Channel 18 in Los Angeles, on KTSF-Channel 26
in San Francisco; on KIKU-Channel 20 in Honolulu; and on CityNet-Channel
27 in Manila, Philippines. The show helped many people in the
United States and in the Philippines better understand the complex
laws and issues of U.S. immigration. And so that they wouldn't be cheated of their hard-earned
dollars in their desperation to legalize their status in America.
Recently, ABS-CBN (the biggest TV network in the Philippines) has launched its Citizen Pinoy show that features the expertise of Atty. Michael J. Gurfinkel. The show reaches several major U.S. states and other parts of the world where Filipino overseas workers are concentrated. This strategy has a proven track record of attracting new business, and has made Mr. Gurfinkel a "by word" in the immigrant community. The marketing efforts have been backed up by quality service for clients, generating word-of-mouth referrals, which have been a continuing significant source of new clientele.
