Naoki Sekiya is an associate attorney with the Law Offices of Michael J. Gurfinkel, Inc. Mr. Sekiya obtained his Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Chuo University (Tokyo, Japan) in 1995 and obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 2004 with concentration in taxation. He also received honors in the law school's Immigration Clinic program.
Mr. Sekiya has extensive experience in immigration law, successfully representing clients before U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and U.S. Embassies/Consulates and litigating deportation/removal cases before Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
From Sacramento, he relocated to Southern California so that his Filipina wife could be closer to her family.
Mr. Sekiya is admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of California and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA), Immigration Section.
He is fluent in Japanese.
